This cartoon deals with the issues that Obama has dealt with this past year. The message of this cartoon is that Obama has had a lot to deal with that is hard to handle. I agree that Obama has had a lot to deal with since he is the President of the United States. No one seems to be giving him credit for trying his hardest to deal with it all in a timely manner and do a good job. Instead people are putting him down for not doing his best when he is still new to the job and he still needs to get used to all of his responsibilities that is job requires.

Events

I believe that we need to do something about the economic issues and the fact that we, as a country are in so much debt it increases each year. My personal belief is that if we all worked hard to fix this problem we could go farther in our lives and come together as a nation. We need to end the wars that are taking place in Iraq and Afghanistan. There seems to be more of threat that there will be another terrorist attack because of the failed attempt that took place before Christmas. So the security is increasing the process that it usually takes to check people for weapons and other hazardous things and for people to get to their planes.

The cartoon is drawn by Wolverton, published by Cagle Cartoons on 1/10/2010. The title of this cartoon is The State of American Security. This cartoon deals with the terrorist issue because of the failed bomb attempt that happened on a plane close to Christmas. The cartoon's message is that the security is not as good as it used to be because it shows a picture of a fence with holes in it that is meant to keep terrorists out. I agree that the security is not working as hard as it should be on making sure that the terrorists stay out. Since the CIA had been warned beforehand about the specific person who had boarded the plane with a bomb attached to his underwear and caused such a huge uproar about how competent the security guards really are.

Prediction of things to come in the Obama administration

I believe that America is starting to turn in the right direction, but its probably going to take a lot more years until we get to where we want to be as a nation. The economic downturn is not over yet because of all the things that are taking place such as global warming. I believe that the actions in Iraq and Afghanistan are making the situation worse by increasing the amount of people who want to do more harm than good to our nation. Though Obama is doing all he can as the president it still is not enough to fix the situation and the important issues of today.
